The Wiki Philosophy does not only apply to wikis: Most other social software systems - a blog, photo sharing site, or social networking platforms - share the same principles of everyone contributing, ease of use, easy linking of information, versioning, and web-based media. The KiWi-System aims to break these system boundaries in that it serves as a platform for implementing and integrating many different kinds of social software services. And it intends to break information boundaries by allowing users to connect content in new ways that go beyond the level of the user interface, e.g. through semantic annotation. KiWi thus takes the wiki idea to the next level through creating a new kind of social software platform that allows users to share and integrate knowledge more easily, naturally and tightly, and to adapt content and functionalities according to their personal requirements. |

The KiWi-System
The heart of the KiWi system will be a reusable platform that allows social software developers to easily build and adapt new services, within the enterprise or in public social media sites. 
Good software systems take into account that people are different. On KiWi, the presentation will adapt to the information needs and experience of the user.
What is lacking in the current world of social software is form of content integration that goes beyond mere linking, for instance that provides for the integration of all available metadata.
